The presentation of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected this summer. It therefore seems logical that the rumors evoke the start of production of folding smartphones, in a limited quantity.
In Samsung’s 2021 calendar, the summer season appears to be reserved for folding devices. According to the first rumors, it is the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 which are expected for a presentation in July. According to our colleagues at WinFuture, the production of the first model has indeed started in perspective of this conference. Unlike more traditional smartphones, the folding mobile should be built in a limited way given its future selling price.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be expensive and the Z Flip 3 much more accessible
For the moment, the German specialist site indicates that these are peripheral components to the folding smartphone. The production phase is, however, well and truly launched. This indicates that the mobile should be immediately available shortly after the Galaxy Unpacked conference. The Galaxy Z Fold 3, however, appears to be produced in limited quantities. Compared to the Galaxy S21, Samsung expects to sell less Fold 3. A logical decision since the mobile should be marketed at a fairly high price as usual.
At this conference, another folding phone is expected: the Galaxy Z Flip 3. At the time of this writing, no information has filtered out on the production of the model. According to rumors regarding the spec sheet, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could support the S Pen with a reinforced Ultra Thin Glass display to protect the folding technology. A camera dedicated to self-portraits should also be hidden below the touchscreen interface. The ambition would be to replace the Galaxy Note range even if Samsung has not yet taken a final decision.
Indeed, the sales of the Galaxy S21 Ultra would not be as good as hoped by the manufacturer. According to several specialized informants, the executives of the constructors are considering a possible return of its range for next year.
