The Pokémon Company International and TiMi Studio Group today announced the release date of Pokémon UNITE, the very first Pokémon team-based strategic fighting game. It will be downloadable free of charge in July 2021 on Nintendo Switch and in September 2021 on mobile devices (with the possibility of purchasing in-game items).

It will also be cross-platform and therefore compatible between Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, which will allow all players to fight together. Additionally, Pokémon Trainer Club accounts or Nintendo accounts will be available for use on both Nintendo Switch and mobile devices to allow progress to be synchronized between devices.

A new trailer showing the game’s intro cutscene, along with some gameplay footage, has also been released. It’s available on the official Pokémon YouTube channel:

Welcome to Aeos Island [os Island]

Pokémon UNITE takes place on Aeos Island, a mythical island located in an unexplored corner of the ocean. This is where players join the Unite Battle Committee (UBC), which organizes Unite Battles. During these matches, the participants form two teams of five and compete in order to score the most points before the time runs out. They can also use a strange source of energy that allows participating Pokémon to evolve: the Aeos energy.

The Unite Battles have huge fans around the world, and Trainers from all walks of life are scrambling to take part in the action. You will be no exception, because you will be going to the island to participate in the competition!

The rules of Unite Battles : Trainers accompanied by their Pokémon compete in team combat 5 against 5. The objective is to collect more points than the opposing team before the time runs out. To earn points, you will need to accumulate Aeos energy by defeating enemy or wild Pokémon, then drop it in one of the opposing objectives. These fights take place in various stages, each offering different rules: the number of participants per team, the duration of the match or the Legendary Pokémon that appear on the field can vary.

Compete against talented teams: cooperation is essential during Unite Battles. When faced with gifted teams or in a delicate situation, it is always possible to snatch victory by coordinating with your teammates. By competing against other teams in ranked games, your rank in the leaderboards may go up (or down) depending on the outcome of your matches. You will start in Beginner Cup [Novice rank] and can progress to the Master Cup [Master rank]. Moreover, the players who have obtained a rank will be registered in a world ranking visible to all!

Level up: before each Unite Battle, participating Pokémon are brought back to level 1 thanks to the power of Aeos energy. Throughout the fight, they gain Experience Points and level up. In doing so, they learn new skills and evolve. When a Pokémon reaches a high level, it gains a powerful Unite Move [Unite ability] exclusive to Unite Battles! These incredible Unite Moves can turn the tide of a fight!

Fight in style : In Pokémon UNITE, you can customize your appearance as well as that of your Pokémon. Take part in the matches while showing off your unique style! You can use Holowears, a special technology powered by Aeos energy, to dress up your Pokémon in various outfits. You can also customize your character’s appearance, clothing, and accessories to make them look the best you like in and out of combat. Update your profile with a Unit photo of your avatar and your partner Pokémon. You can even modify it by changing the expression and pose of your avatar, or by adding stickers. You will be able to see your Unit photo and that of other players before starting a match!

Find your role: Many Pokémon are present in Pokémon UNITE, such as Charizard, Pikachu or Amphinobi. Although type resistances and weaknesses do not exist in Unite Battles, each Pokémon has a role (Attacker, Defender [Defender], Speedster [Fast], Supporter [Support], or All-Rounder [Versatile]) ) and stats that are unique to him and that reflect his way of playing. You will need to train with different Pokémon in order to find the role that suits you best. Before you can team up with a Pokémon, you will need to obtain that Pokémon’s Unite license. You can find them at the Unite Battle Committee, where you can exchange your Aeos coins (redeemable through Unite Battles) for the Unite license of your choice.

Enjoy even more Pokémon UNITE with the Battle Pass: You can earn in-game rewards with the Seasonal Battle Pass. For this, you will have to complete missions to level up your Pass. It will also be possible to improve it with Aeos gems [Æos Gems] in order to receive even more rewards!

Browse the shops for items: Pokémon UNITE has three in-game currencies: Aeos gems (paid), Aeos coins and Aeos tickets [Tickets Æos]. Coins and tickets can be obtained by playing the game. Go to the Unite Battle Committee to exchange your Aeos coins or your Aeos gems for Unite licenses in order to recruit new Pokémon. They will also be useful to you in the Aeos Emporium [Bazar Æos], where you can obtain all kinds of objects held for your Pokémon or clothing for your avatar. Trainer outfits and accessories can also be redeemed for Aeos tickets. Zirco Trading [Zirco & Co] specializes in Holowears. You can get them for Aeos gems.
